Not much happening with me at the moment, my husband is out of town and i miss him terribly. However i think our youngest baby D misses him the most. She is going to turn one at the end of the month.
She simply adores her father, each time the phone rings, or someone opens the front door she calls out “baba”. She refuses to say mama only baba.
Our eldest didnt ask about him much, she kept herself occupied. But when she spoke to him on the phone a couple of days ago and he mentioned her favorite cartoon charecter strawberry shortcake, thats when she started asking when is baba coming? or she would sing “i am going to get strawberry shortcake la la…..la..la..” lol
My eldest daughter loves crafts, i really hope that she will still be interested when she is old enough to really learn. The other day she came up to me while i was sewing and said “no mama, let me show you how its done”. I dont know why i am paying someone to teach me how to sew when my daughter seems to know how its all done. You sometimes wonder where do kids come up with such things?
I am really amazed at her confidence and ability to grasp things and will try my best to help her keep this up.

I think it is wonderful to get kids involved in craftiness – maybe they won’t be into it and if you’re lucky they will be into it!
My grannie taught me to crochet at a very young age – I was maybe 6 or 7. If it hadn’t been for her, I’m sure I wouldn’t be into crafts at all.
Yeah lets hope they will be into it.
So do you still crochet? and what other crafts are you into?
Btw would you mind sending me your email address?
Good to hear that your daughter is interested ……my craftiness is from my grandmother(my mom’s mother) . My mom was creative …but was a working mother and didn’t get time for anything crafty. But she started to teach me to do cross stitch and other embroidery when i was almost 8yrs. I even repesented my school for craft competition when i was in 4th grade. I got my first sewing machine when i was in grade 7. Did some sewing for small curtains, pillow case etc and i even stitched skirt for myself. Not an elaborate pattern…simple one with lots of pleats.
to cut the story short, later …. Internet opened the doors to wide variety of craft and i learned to crochet . Now i want to learn tatting and quilting and wanted to try many other craft forms.
Today i went to some stores in Al Khuwair looking for tatting shuttle….but didn’t get.
Thanks for sharing Nima, i honestly wish i had started at a young age but for some reason i always that these skills would not come in handy.
Oman is a beautiful country and lovely to live it. However fustration strikes in when you want something and cant find it. I dont know what a tatting shuttle is i will have a look on the net for a pic and if i happen to find it i will let you know.
Are you part of any sewing group? if you are they might help you find supplies.
I’m not a part of any local sewing group. I’m a part of few online groups and i participate in charity stitching and exchanges.
Since i don’t drive i’m slightly hesitant to join a group. I’ll have to depend on my DH to go out for activities.
Did you see what tatting shuttle is . Check this link

Tatting is something similar to crochet, to make laces and doilies.
I have never seen a tatting shuttle, i would like to see how it works if you ever manage to get one. I doubt you will find them here but there is no harm in looking.
Shame that you can not join a group due to the transportation. Oh well thank god for the internet
fathers are such a powerful being in the lives of kids. love that they call him ‘baba’
