When i first got engaged i remember warning my soon to be husband that i didnt know how to cook
I didnt even know how to make tea, pathetic isnt it? i blame my nanny/housemaid for not letting me help her in the kitchen her excuse was that i could get hurt.
It was so bad that when asking my guests what i could offer them, i dreaded hearing ” Tea, please” because i just couldnt do it. So i then answer ” if you want good tea i suggest you make it yourself, cause i cant make it”. Cause you see here its not just put the kettle on and add a tea bag and pour the milk with two lumps of sugar.
You see ladies and gentlemen the tea has to be cooked
and now after 5 1/2 years of marriage i can honestly say that I have prefected making tea, from trial and error which in my opinion is the core of success.
Here is how its done
You will need the following:

Water
*Apart from the cloves i cant really say how much of each ingredient i used as i dont measure
Directions
In a saucepan put all the ingredients excpet the milk, and bring it to a boil.

Once boiling add the milk

It should look like this

let simmer for a couple of mins, to allow the milk to really mix.

Now thats done, strain it and pour it into cups or thermos (whatever u are used to) sweeten with sugar and ENJOY!

I’m going to have to try this!!! We love tea in our house! What an interesting take- is this traditional in Oman?
Please do and let me know the outcome. I hope you like it
I dont think its traditional Omani tea.
The traditional hot drink here is coffee cooked with cardamon and saffron.
There are many variations on cooking tea. Some cook it with fresh ginger, some with cardamon, saffron, sweet condesend milk, instead of tinned. So its basically just personal choice.
